Pontus Development is currently constructing the 5-star luxurious complex – Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa in Gonio Beach, which will be the largest hotel in the region. The location offers convenient access to Batumi International Airport, just a 7-minute drive away, as well as being about 15 minutes from the center of Batumi, the strategic center of Adjara region. Moreover, it’s just a 10-minute drive to the Turkish border near Sarfi, an important business crossing point in Georgia.

The launch of the 600-key Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa represents a significant achievement for Rotana as they pursue international expansion, with plans for new regions already underway and a successful launch anticipated in 2027.

Key points to note about the Pontus Rotana Resort & Spa in Gonio:

  • It will be the first Middle Eastern hotel in Georgia.
  • Investors have the opportunity to invest in a classic hotel managed by the renowned international hotelier, Rotana.
  • The project has a total cost of $45 million and covers a residential area of 25,600 square meters.
  • It will have 600 rooms with an average size of 42.7 square meters.

In addition to the hotel, the resort will offer a range of supporting facilities for guests, including a restaurant, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a massage and spa area, a hammam, fitness center, conference hall, parking zone, interactive play zone for kids, rooftop area, and a private beach.

Recognizing the potential created by the recently signed free trade agreement between Georgia and the United Arab Emirates, the company sees promising opportunities emerging in the tourism sector. While the Gonio project is of great importance, it is not the exclusive focus, and the company has expressed its intention to explore alternative investment options in the near future.
